A computer when said of a car is one and only PCM/DME/Control unit…thanks rf. (#2) is the module I was trying to reset, but messed with both units…I know what I did and the car didn't die, Twice! I can take a video and let you see! The other is the Transmission Control Module or Control Unit EGS or Unit E : This is the PCM (PowertrainControl Module) or DME (DigitalMotor Electronics) or mechanics call it Control Unit/Computer: No matter, I cn think of nothing electrical that will pop a 0021. This is why I can't align your story with the realities of the car. But since this includes the fuel pump relay, engine will die soon. Plug 3 injection control Unplug it, engine dies NOW Unplug it, relay trips open, engine dies NOW Plug 2 misc signals, includes the DME main relay. I don't know which module you were unplugging, but here's the deal on the ME7.2, or any of the BMW SKE formatted DMEs "Ask me what I did to a stalled engine when diagnosic showed a code?" But when it comes to electronics, Im all hears! ahah… Your inputs are very valuable to me in resolving this, instead of just paying to get it fixed. I've had 10 bimmers and never had any of em in shop ('91 525i 416,000+ miles). I've been calling Walter BMW Racing Shop here in Rancho Cordova, CA and no "PePBoys"…lol. I have to figure a way to resync and have the system(DME) communicate with the whole car. In essence, I removed the blood support to the brain, now car's in a coma. Causing the codes P0021(oem) & P1527(gen)…car had never had these until I disconnected the DME/ECU. I disconnect then reconnect each individually never leaving all unplugged altogether. ![]() Purpose was the Transmission Control Module to try reset the Transmission. Accidentally: chose the wrong Module to unplugged.
